JACKSON, Ms (SNN-TV) – Mississippi State University is in mourning today, as Mike Leach, the school’s head football coach died last night of heart condition complications.
Leach’s family issued a statement calling him quote “a giving and attentive husband, father and grandfather.” They also said Leach signed up to donate his organs… in what they called “a final act of charity.”
Leach was a two-time “National Coach of the Year” and collected 158 wins throughout his career at Texas Tech, Washington State and, until his passing, Mississippi State.
Leach was 61-years-old.
