MANATEE COUNTY (SNN TV) – UPDATE(Jan. 17) – There were no obvious signs of trauma at the scene where a Manatee County teacher was found dead Sunday morning.
39-year-old Justin Darr, a Physical Education teacher at McNeal Elementary School in Lakewood Ranch, was found not far from his home in Parrish. besides no signs of trauma, the Medical Examiner completed an autopsy Monday finding no signs of homicidal violence. Pending toxicology results, the cause of death is still unknown. One source told SNN that he had been devastated recently by the end of a relationship.
Darr had been reported missing last week, and when law enforcement searched his home, he wasn’t there, his pets were uncared for, and his car was still at his house. Both his family and the Sheriff’s Office feared he could be in trouble at the time.
Several parents spoke to SNN to say how much their kids enjoyed Darr as a teacher.
