HOUSTON, TX (SNN-TV) – The No. 3 seed LSU Tigers turned an up-and-down game into their favor at the right moment tonight in their Final Four match-up with Virginia Tech.

Kim Mulkey’s Tigers are advancing to the national championship game with a 79-72 win over the No. 1 seed HokiesLSU began the fourth on a 22-3 run that gave it a 72-62 advantage.

Angel Reese finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and three steals, while Alexis Morris had 27 points and former Lakewood Ranch star LaDazhia Williams had 16 points, seven boards and three steals.

LSU advances to their first title game after the program lost five consecutive national semifinal games from 2004-2008, the only other times they made it this far.

The Tigers will play Sunday at 3pm against the winner of the South Carolina-Iowa semifinal.
