TORONTO, CAN (SNN-TV) – The Tampa Bay Lightning look to reach the Stanley Cup Final for a fourth consecutive season, a journey that begins with a match-up tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the First Round.

From 2020 to 2022 the Lightning won 11 consecutive postseason series and the Stanley Cup twice before seeing their run end by being defeated by the Colorado Avalanche in six games in last year’s Stanley Cup Final. Tampa Bay is attempting to become the first team to reach the Final in four straight seasons since the New York Islanders did it in five consecutive seasons from 1980-1984.

High-scoring affairs are typically in store when these clubs square off, with seven or more total goals scored in five of the past six meetings. Will we see another high-scoring contest, or can the goaltending step up Puck drop tonight from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is set for 7:30pm over on ESPN.
