The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday for the Marine Science Education & Outreach Center, according to the Herald-Tribune. It’s located at the Anna Maria City Pier. The centerpiece is an interactive pool where visitors can touch local marine life, including horseshoe crabs and sea stars.

There are other displays to educate guests about the importance of mangroves and seagrass beds, with sea-life displays located inside.

The center is free and open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
