MIAMI (SNN TV) – Florida Democrats continue to recover from brutal midterm elections in 2022. Now, in their annual gala, it’s all about being on the same page to achieve better results in 2024.

The Herald-Tribune reports Leadership Blue in Miami features the new slate of Democratic state leaders — chair Nikki Fried, Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book and House Minority Leader Fentrice Driskell.

Book says Florida Democrats are focused on abortion, affordability, education, worker’s rights and public safety.

This event takes place the weekend prior to the conservative Turning Points USA event in West Palm Beach. Leadership Blue is one of the few major Democratic events in Florida this year. President Joe Biden’s recently announced tour featuring national top Democrats Vice President Kamala Harris, First Lady Jill Biden, Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg skipped Florida from the listed 26 states they will visit.

In an interview with SNN this year, Nikki Fried told me many of the problems in the state party apparatus are decades in the making. She says it’ll take a while to make the state party more competitive again.
