CHARLOTTE COUNTY – More than 100 volunteers have banded together to create the ‘Yes for Success’ millage group pushing voters to vote yes to additional millage in Charlotte County.

The group, sporting green shirts consists of teachers, parents, even Charlotte County Schools superintendent and School Board Chairman.

Additional millage would provide extra money for schools to use to increase teacher salary and increase school security.

“This was critically important for our students, for our employees, and for our community. There are going to be a lot of benefits. We want our employees to know that the work that they do is valued. We want the kids to know that education is important, and our community needs to know that good schools are going to improve the community,” said Sue Sifrit, Chairwoman for the campaign.

Sarasota and Manatee counties voted yes for additional millage in past elections.
