SARASOTA- The Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections began its machine recount. They’re responsible for recounting over 200,000 ballots. Recounts will be conducted in the races for governor, senate, and agriculture commissioner.
Ron Turner the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections says he expects Sarasota County’s recounts to continue through at least Monday and possibly longer. Observers showed up to make sure each vote counts.
“When we’re casting those votes, we want to make sure that our votes are counted properly,” said Christian Ziegler, observer for the republican party of Florida. “And that the will of the people is known and see who in the majority and then who gets to take office and who really sets the leadership. There’s a lot of big decisions and we get to decide which direction were going to go in.”
The machine recounts must be completed by 3 p.m. Thursday.
