SARASOTA, Fla. (SNN TV) – Sarasota’s oldest restaurant reopened Thursday after flooding from Hurricane Idalia.
In a Facebook post, Columbia Restaurant posted that they reopened at 5 p.m. after temporarily closing due to flooding in St. Armands Circle.
This comes after St. Armands was reopened to traffic Thursday morning.
While the menu is abbreviated, the restaurant’s page does say you’ll be able to order some of its most popular items, including two favorites — the Original Cuban Sandwich and 1905 Salad.
Its sister restaurant, Cha Cha Coconuts, also reopened yesterday.
The Herald-Tribune reports the company’s vice president said both locations never lost power, and both places “drained very quickly once the pumps and natural drainage kicked in.”
