SARASOTA COUNTY- McIntosh Middle School and a nearby charter school were on lock down for two hours this afternoon, due to heavy police activity in the area.
Deputies were in the area searching for a man, now Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson confirmed with SNN, 32 year old Richard Cox is in custody after deputies say he was involved in a domestic dispute, then fled on foot with a handgun. County School’s Tracey Beeker says parents were able to pick up their kids and children were able to safely get on their buses to go home.
