VENICE, Fla. (SNN TV) – A ribbon cutting was held for a tribute to first responders at Heritage Park in Venice Saturday morning.
A 40-year-old flag pole from Fire Station 51 was restored and hung as a tribute to the first responders. This was a class project of Leadership Venice Class of 2023 and headed up by one of its members, City Executive Assistant Cordy Crane.
According to the Venice Chamber of Commerce website, Leadership Venice is a group of community leaders representing a cross section of the community; they accept leadership roles and civic responsibilities.
The national anthem was performed by members of the Venice High School Band and the ribbon cutting was led by Venice first responders.
