SARASOTA – Sarasota residents are in for a big change with the return of paid parking in downtown Sarasota.

City workers installed the parking meters last week along Main Street, Palm Avenue, and Ringling Boulevard. Sarasota’s parking Manager Mark Lyon says the meters were installed near some of the most desirable spots in downtown.

The anticipated parking rate is one dollar and fifty cents per hour. The meters won’t be activated until after July 8th.
