SARASOTA – The Florida Health Department finds a food service worker who tested positive for Hepatitis A on the Suncoast.
Health officials determined the person worked at P.F. Chang’s at 766 south Osprey Avenue from November 6th through the 17th, and may have been infectious. The Hep-a vaccine may provide protection if administered within two weeks after exposure, so if you ate or drank there during that time frame, and you haven’t been vaccinated, you should get the vaccine.
The health department on Ringling Boulevard in Sarasota and the location in north port are offering free hepatitis a vaccines.
