SARASOTA – The MadeBy Gallery at the Ringling College of Art and Design celebrates the opening reception to the 10th annual student show.

Students and alumni have their artwork on display that are available for purchase to the public.

Some of the artists featured are students who are veterans or actively enlisted. President of the Ringling College Veterans Club Matthew Troyer says the exhibit shows that veterans have other talents outside of their military experience.

“What I’d like for people to see that there are veterans here and that we have a unique experience,” said Troyer. “Everyone has their own lived experience and ours is just a little different than everyone else’s and that why I like to exhibit here and just to see how we’re adapting to being civilians some of us still actually serving and creating art.”

Troyer says the exhibit will be on display until November 2nd. The Veterans Club next project is to work with veterans in the community to do illustrated portraits amongst other things.
