SARASOTA – The V Foundation announced they were awarded $150,000 towards Dick Vitale’s goal of reaching $5 million this year for pediatric cancer research.
Co-Hosts of the 380 Foundation Golf and Awards Dinner Craig and JoEllen Mettille presented sports legend Vitale a check at the annual golf outing in Iowa for $150,000. Vitale says the Mettilles have been part of the V Foundation for the past nine years.
“JoEllen and I were at Dick’s first foundation at his house. We were looking for a place to raise the money and apply it towards certain foundations and when we left there man we were ‘Vitaled’ man he got me,” said Craig.
The V Foundation reports since 2005 the 380 Foundation and the Mettilles have donated more than $1,075,000.
