SARASOTA – The 24th annual Sarasota Holiday Parade makes its way downtown.

Thousands of participants including lighted floats, high school marching bands and Santa Claus make their way down Main Street from Washington Boulevard to Gulfstream Avenue.

“I thinks it’s really nice cause you can just see your community all around, you know get brought together and it just being beautiful,” said spectator Miguel Sanchez. Sanchez and his family were front stage to soak in all the holiday cheer.

The annual parade drew in thousands of spectators cheering and waving at the floats going in by. “Everyone is involved it’s real nice,” said Emily Mollin.

Those attending say this is a great way to kick off their holiday season. “Everyone has good energy and it’s just back and forth,” said Maria Sanchez.

More than a dozen floats marched through downtown and those involved in the parade reached in the hundreds. This year’s theme was Holidays by the Sea.
