ELLENTON – The new Acapulco Tropical y Mas in Ellenton has opened their doors to the public. Co-Owner of the store Ana Leyva says it was because of hers family’s perseverance that they’ve been able to branch out an open their largest location to date.

“We listened to our customer because you know customers are always right and we want to please them,” said Leyva.

Leyva and her family opened their first Acapulco Tropical store in Bradenton 15 years ago. Through years of hard work she now co-owns the new Acapulco Tropical y Mas in Ellenton. With more than 30,000 square feet the new produce market has an array of options to choose from.

“You get your cake, you get your flowers, you get your balloons , and then you get your gift for your person and you do it [all at] once here, as a one stop shop,” she said.

Leyva says the new store has more space for their fresh produce such as vegetables, meat and fish market and their popular bakery where they make all their bread and tortillas fresh every day.

“We decided to name our hot food area ‘Nuestro Sazon’ which actually recognizes it – the taste that Acapulco has to the public,” said Leyva.

Leyva says the kitchen is now double the size of any of their other locations, allowing for more dishes to be available for shoppers. The store has even ventured into selling products from the Caribbean and other Latin countries to appeal to the diverse community in Manatee County.

“Acapulco Tropical wants everybody to feel welcomed, and actually America is based on a lot of different cultures, we bring cultures all together,” said Leyva.

From their renowned Mexican dishes to stocking their shelves with products once only found in your home country, Leyva and her family have brought a little piece of home to Manatee County.

“Some of the things that you make your own dishes you can’t find it anywhere we try to bring that here, and that’s the little special flavor we try to bring you here,” she said.

The store will have their grand opening in a couple weeks in the meantime Leyva is allowing customers inside the store to see what the future of Acapulco Tropical y Mas has to offer.

The store is located on 3410 US Highway 301 N, Ellenton, FL. For store hours and much more visit their Facebook page
