SARASOTA – The crash happened at the intersection of Desoto Road and Lockwood Ridge Road around 12:30 pm.
Florida Highway Patrol says a 2008 Ford Truck was traveling southbound on Lockwood and a 2018 Chevy Silverado was traveling northbound.
The Ford truck tried to make a left turn from Lockwood onto Desoto, but didn’t see the oncoming traffic, and crashed into the Chevy Silverado.
After the crash, one of the vehicles struck a 2009 blue Pontiac that was idle, going westbound on Desoto Road.
A fourth car was involved but had no damage or injuries.
Trooper Kenn Watson wants to remind everyone about the traffic signals.
“When you have that green light, and you want to make a left turn, you may do so, only after clearing,” said Trooper Kenn Watson. Make sure the oncoming traffic can safely traverse the area because they have the right away. And remember, you never have the right away, it is given to you.”
The three individuals were sent to Lakewood Ranch Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
FHP is still investigating.
