LAKEWOOD RANCH – It’s bird, it’s a plane, no they’re flying stunt dogs…
Hosted at the Sarasota Polo Club on Sunday dozens of dogs took to the air in dog dock diving. The event featured an array of pet friendly vendors all based in Florida. John Gattignolo and Barbara Lentz have been training dogs to fly since 2013 at the Florida West Coast Air Dogs.
Lentz says she’s trained more than 200 dogs earn their wings.
“You get to interact with the people and you get to talk to them, answer questions and it’s just fun to see their reactions. We have a great time and we love to entertain them,” said Lentz.
The couple says seeing the smile on the faces of other when seeing the dogs take to the sky is priceless. “It’s the people that makes us have a good time,” said Gattignolo.
Bayside Pet Resort sponsored the event to help raise money for the Humane Society of Manatee County.
