SARASOTA – Columbia Restaurant Group is making sure to help their staff during these difficult times.

Although all locations and brands are temporarily closed and not offering takeout or pickup, the Restaurant group created an Employee assistant fund that will be provided to staff of all the company’s brands including Columbia Restaurant, Ulele, Goody Goody and Sarasota’s, Cha Cha Coconuts.

“Because our restaurants are closed we had furloughed all of our workers so we’re donating 100 percent of our revenue from our online gift card sales to the workers, that’ll be all the sales from the time we closed through the end of April,” said, Chief Marketing Officer of Columbia Restaurant Group, Michael Kilgore. “Additionally, if you do five hundred dollars we’re adding fifty dollars to that.”

The Company is also paying full health benefits for all furloughed employees through April.

On Monday, the company began providing pre-prepared staff meals for Pickup at the Columbia in Ybor.

Meals for staff at other locations are planned in coming weeks at restaurant locations in Sarasota, Sand Key in Clearwater, Celebration, and St. Augustine.
