MANATEE COUNTY – Congressman Vern Buchanan is helping bring home a Sarasota veteran stuck overseas amid the pandemic.
Army veteran and co-founder of the non-profit — Operation Warrior Resolution Kendra Simpkins has been stuck in India for more than a month now. The congressman announced on Sunday he spoke to the U.S. Ambassador to India this past week and has arranged for Simpkins to return home soon.
President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House Coronavirus Task Force update on Saturday nearly 40-thousand Americans are still stuck in foreign countries. Simpkins flight is scheduled to depart from India on Monday.
