SARASOTA – Florida Congressman Vern Buchanan shared good news on twitter to residents of both the city of Sarasota & Bradenton.
In two separate tweets the congressman announced that the two cities would each be receiving hefty grants. The grants would help the cities buy personal protective equipment for first responders on the Suncoast.
In a statement released to SNN, Congressman Buchanan says “Ensuring that our police officers and first responders have access to personal protective equipment is absolutely critical to their safety and enabling them to better serve our community. These grants will go a long way towards protecting our front-line workers during the current health crisis and I will continue to do everything in my power to ensure they have all the resources they need.”
The aid comes just in time as both Sarasota and Manatee County are seeing increases in the number of cases.
