MANATEE COUNTY – “The Manatee Chamber of Commerce has 52,000 reusable cloth masks that are available for businesses to request, to be able to pass them out to their employees,” said President and CEO of Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Jacki Dezelski.
The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County partnered with the Chamber to be a distribution point for local businesses. You can request masks through their online portal at recover manatee dot com
“Any business in the greater Manatee region can enter their requests for masks and then we will package them up individually and have them available either at the Manatee Chamber Bradenton office or our Lakewood Ranch office,” said Dezelski.
The mask request form asks for basic contact information, as well as a number of employees and how many masks they would like to request
“The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County is suggesting that businesses have two masks for each employee so that they always have one that is freshly laundered available for their use,” said Dezelski.
In the past week and a half, the chamber has received requests for 30,000 masks. The Hampton Inn in Downtown Bradenton was one of the recipients.
“15 employees and they are all wearing the masks right now, they are very comfortable and they are very light and white so it freshens up and it looks great on the team,” said Director of Sales and Marketing at Hampton Inn & Suites, Kelly Ann Seaton.
“It’s just a wonderful amenity for the chamber to do that for the community and I think that it really shows that they care, and their thinking about us”
Jimmy Johns in Downtown Bradenton also received masks from the Chamber of Commerce.
Although masks are not required within Manatee County businesses, they are required for businesses in the cities of Holmes Beach and Anna Maria.
