You’re invited to Floyd Blair’s 100 Virtual Party celebration

OCALA – A World War II veteran reaches a huge milestone, and his grandson wants everyone to join in on the celebration. So you’re cordially invited to celebrate Floyd Blair’s 100^th Virtual Birthday Party.

“People are really looking for good news right now and celebrating such a great man like Floyd is something that a lot of people would get behind.”

Dr. Nathan Bonilla-Warford made it his mission to make sure his grandfather Floyd Blair’s 100^th Birthday celebration was a big one.

Warford says due to the COVID-19 pandemic Blair’s family won’t be able to get together to celebrate the big day. So he turned to social media to get the word out of Blair’s virtual party.

“Mostly I’m just really happy so many people have wanted to take part in this. Especially – its very, very easy to share messages on social media I really appreciate that,” said Bonilla-Warford. “But to all the people that have taken the time to fill out an address and stamp a card that going even further.”

Warford says he’s received more than seven thousand messages and comments online just for Blair.

A World War II Fighter Pilot, Blair says he’s surprised at the amount of letters and birthday messages he’s received. “I appreciate that I don’t deserve it but I do cause I got to be 100,” said Blair.

As for Blair’s secret to living a long joyful life.

“One thing that I could tell people is that live each day at a time. Be honest with everybody. Be nice to people which is what I wish people would start doing,” he said.
