SARASOTA-MANATEE (WSNN) – Suncoast Blood Centers is shutting down operations on the Suncoast due to ETA.
All five locations: Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, and Port Charlotte will be closed until further notice.
Spokesperson, Joan Leonard says it’s all for the safety of their donors and staff.
She says they hope to reopen all locations Friday morning.
When they open, they’ll need more blood. Leonard says storms of this magnitude can disrupt the blood supply for many days after the storm has come through.
