TALLAHASSEE – A quiet morning in the state capitol.

Tallahassee’s mayor, John Dailey spoke in Downtown Tallahassee to answer questions at a news conference after a quiet weekend at the Florida Capitol, with no protests or violence.

Mayor Dailey thanked governor Ron DeSantis for issuing an executive order to bring in the Florida National Guard.

He also thanked multiple law enforcement agencies that have been working together to secure the capitols perimeter.

“We are prepared just in case, my message to anybody who wants to come to Tallahassee for violent reasons or destruction of property, stay home. It’s the same message that you hear from my colleagues that are mayors of other capital cities across the United States and governors. We are not a violent community nor will we tolerate violence, we have a zero tolerance for it and we’re prepared to respond,” said Mayor of Tallahassee, John Dailey.

Mayor Dailey assured that the state capitol will continue to be guarded to ensure the safety of citizens and property.
