SARASOTA – Feel Good Friday is back, and unlike last week’s rage room experience I takes you to the Bazaar on Apricot and Lime. This week I introduces you to three artists whose style of painting is uniquely peculiar.

“I think we’re all a little bizarre at the Bazaar,” Karle Murdock.

If you’ve been to the Bazaar on Apricot and Lime, you’ll know that no two venders are ever the same. That’s because each unique vendor brings their own style, their own flare, their own… well you get the point…

We start with Murdock whose sculpture are larger than life. Made out vintage Herald-Tribune newspapers Murdock, a former actress, says she develops the concepts for her art as if she were developing a character on stage.

“Each one is a human experience, so this is the experience of ecstasy,” said Murdock.

From one artist finding inspiration from within to another whose muse is everywhere about us here in Florida.

“I love palm trees and anything that flows in the breeze and lot and lots of beautiful flowers,” said Teresa Stone.

In a room where each vendor individually stands out at the Bazaar – Stone’s artwork pops out at you. Meshing her two styles by painting with acrylic and watercolors allows Stone to create the perfect wallpaper not seen anywhere else.

“I call it a wallpaper mural cause it a vinyl removable, but they love the bright colors, and the fact that it’s a piece within itself,” said Stone.

This artist’s work you’ve more than likely seen around town. Karen Chandler is the artist behind the now iconic mural found on the side of the Raw Sugar Living building on 2nd Street and Goodrich Avenue.

The success she’s garnered from it is something she never expected.

“It was my dream that it could and the fact that it seems like it is, is just amazing to me,” said Chandler. “It’s really a thrill of a lifetime.”

All three artists say other than their websites you can only find their work at the Bazaar on Apricot and Lime located on 821 Apricot Ave, Sarasota, FL 34237, so stop on by if you can and you’ll be sure to leave with an original piece or two…
