CHARLOTTE COUNTY (WSNN) – If you missed your chance to audition at the movie we told you about a couple of weeks ago, you have another shot this weekend. The film director is casting again in Charlotte County.

It’s a casting call for a film and a reality TV show. (Find all the details here.)

The film director is hosting a “last looks” audition before their final callbacks this Saturday at the Sleep Inn & Suites of Port Charlotte.

The second audition, open to anyone 18 and older, will run all day starting at 11 AM.

“The original schedule for this coming Saturday was to just do our final callbacks,” Film Director, Brad Lyon said. “But, we had such an outcry of people who just getting the media at the last minute that would have loved to had audition, and we felt bad. And thought, ‘Hey we can’t miss out on giving this many people a chance.”

And don’t leave Port Charlotte because the callbacks start at 7 PM right after the auditions.

And if you’re feeling nervous about what to expect at an audition, I walk you through the process. And the first step is showing up.

Every audition is different, but in this case, it’s an open call. Anyone can show up and you don’t need a resume or a headshot.

“It’s a cold read format, which means we’re giving you the dialogue on sight,” Lyon said.

After you sign your name and put your information down, you’re going to have an application and questionnaire to fill out. And then the third-page has the monologues you want to choose from. You want to memorize one of them.

The time you have to memorize depends on how many people are at the casting call. And be prepared to stick around a while.

“If we gave each person out of 100, three-minutes, and it took one minute to switch people in and out, that’s over six-and-half hours of time,” Lyon said. “So you can imagine how long of a wait if there are 40 or 50 people ahead of you.”

Use that time wisely. It’s okay to have jitters. Take a deep breath. And prepare to be on you’re A-game when you walk into that audition room.

And then after you audition, the hard part is over. Then, you just have to wait for that callback.”

“This is a process,” Lyon said. “You typically don’t land the role your first audition. Quite often, you don’t land the role your first 20. Think of it as a practice, think of it as the intro to your training to become a professional actor.”
