SARASOTA – The mythical tale of King Arthur is making its way to the Suncoast.

Asolo Repertory Theater has announced the cast for its upcoming production, Lerner and Loewe’s ‘Camelot’

The eight member cast will hit the outdoor stage on March 17 and 18th for a preview of the adaptation, and will run from March 19th through April 1st.

The timeless story with unforgettable characters includes, Alex Joseph Grayson who will bring life to Lancelot while making his acting debut with the theater.

Grayson says although many are familiar with the tale, the cast is sure to deliver a refreshing twist.

“They’ve seen the movie, there’s a 1950s production, so people know the songs, so all we’re doing is we’re putting these characters on our body, we are bringing some new life into it and we’re really sending it directly to the audience this time,” said Alex Joseph Grayson, who will play ‘Lancelot’ in “Camelot”

The production will take place on Asolo Rep’s outdoor terrace stage and will have several elements in place to ensure the health and safety of the patrons like temperature checks, contactless entry, and digital playbills.

“You can know that when you arrive, your seat has been sanitized, the restroom has been sanitized and is available if you do need it and we’re not allowing food and drinks as a key thing, so there is no reason to take your mask off,” said General Manager or Asolo Repertory Theater, Corinne Deckard.
