MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – The discharge of wastewater from Piney Point ends.
According to the Herald-Tribune, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection announced this Friday.
This comes after a breach at the Piney Point in Manatee County more than a week ago.
Around 215,000,000 gallons of polluted water was dumped into Tampa Bay at Port Manatee.
The Florida DEP says crews are working “around the clock” to repair a seam separation in the containment pond liner that’s causing water to leak from the breach.
