SARASOTA – Sarasota Concert Band will hold a free concert honoring military with patriotic music on Monday.

The event will take place at Phillippi Estate Park in Sarasota from 5 to 7 PM.

Music Director and Conductor of the Sarasota Concert band says last year was the first time the event was cancelled in 40 years due to COVID, but the band could not be happier to be back performing.

“We pulled this together in only a couple of weeks because we usually have a couple of months but the CDC and everybody didn’t approve it until a few weeks ago so we were lucky to get some of the best musicians in our area because they have been dying to play too, they haven’t played, most of the good musicians around for the last year and a half so they’re joining us,” said Music Director and Conductor of the Sarasota Concert Band, William Barbanera.

Lawn chairs and picnics are welcome, and food vendors will be on-site as well.
