BRADENTON (SNN-TV) – Following his 11 Year NFL career, former Lakewood Ranch star and Bradenton native, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie now finds himself chasing championships in another professional football league.

The AFFL, also known as the American Flag Football league, is the nation’s premiere league for flag football. It has attracted some of the NFL’s biggest names in years past, including Michael Vick, Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, and former Florida Gator Danny Wuerffel. As for Rodgers- Cromartie, he is an integral member of the “Kings of Florida”, who on Sunday, will compete against “The Freaks” for the AFFL Championship in Houston, Texas.

Rodgers-Cromartie played flag football in the off-season throughout his entire NFL tenure, and says that younger kids should seek all their options, if hoping to make football a career. “If you want to play football…put all your eggs in that basket. You know there’s always some form of football that’s out there. If you want do it, you can do it, you just got to believe in yourself, have fun and keep going.”
