LAKEWOOD RANCH (SNN-TV) – College basketball legend, Hall of Fame broadcaster and Suncoast resident, Dick Vitale, announced earlier today that he has been diagnosed with Lymphoma.

For the second time in the past few months, Dick Vitale has been diagnosed with cancer.

Vitale said in a essay to ESPN, that he’s been undergoing tests as of late, and doctors confirmed the lymphoma.

In August, Vitale underwent multiple surgeries to remove melanoma, but doctors say the lymphoma diagnosis is unrelated.

The plan to treat Vitale’s cancer is with steroids and 6-months of chemo-therapy.

Vitale promises and urges that despite his diagnosis, he will continue the fight to raise money for pediatric cancer, as the Dick Vitale Gala will still go on as planned in May of 2022.
