ST. PETERSBURG (SNN-TV) – With the MLB season wrapped up, the offseason kicks off with the 2021 MLB awards, and the Rays are well represented.

Randy Arozarena, Wander Franco and Kevin Cash are all up for awards this season.

Both Arozarena and Franco are nominees for the American League rookie of the year and Cash is nominated for AL Manager of the Year.

Arozarena retained rookie eligibility despite being the breakout star of last year’s postseason.  This season he hit .274 with 20 homers, 69 RBIs and 94 runs scored.

As for Franco, he played in only 70 games this season. But he did quite well, hitting .288 with seven homers and 39 RBI‘s. Also, he reached base in 43 straight games, matching Frank Robinson’s 1956 mark for players 20 and under.

Cash is an AL Manager of the Year finalist for the fourth straight year. He led the Rays to an American League-best 100-62 record and a second straight AL East championship this season, though they were ousted in the Division Series by Boston.

The rookie awards for both leagues will be announced November 15th, and the top managers on November 16th.
