CANTON, OH (SNN-TV) – For the 2nd year in a row, Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Rondé Barber has been named a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Barber now has a chance to be inducted as a member of the 2022 class, just one year after former Bucs teammate John Lynch received pro football’s highest individual honor.

A generational defender who revolutionized the nickel-back position, Barber is the only player in NFL history with more than 45 interceptions and 25 sacks in a career. He spent all 16 seasons of his incredible NFL career with the Bucs, setting numerous franchise and league records.

If inducted, he would be the fourth member of Tampa Bay’s dominant 2002 Super Bowl defense to receive a gold jacket and a bronze bust in Canton.
