WASHINGTON, D.C (SNN-TV) – The Washington Football Team has chosen a new name, and they plan to share it with fans next month.
Tuesday, they gave no hints to the name they’ve chosen, but the team did say which options have been ruled out. The team’s president says after careful consideration, they decided against “Wolves” and “Redwolves”, because they did not want to risk any legal troubles.
The team’s new name will be revealed on February 2nd.
Back in 2020, the team stopped using “Redskins” because of the term’s racist connotations.
