SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – Sarasota High School, and all of the high school football community on the Suncoast, is mourning the loss of one of their own tonight.

Earlier today, Elton Strawderman passed away due to COVID complications.

For the past year, Strawderman was the offensive coordinator on Brody Wiseman’s Sailor staff at Sarasota High.

Strawderman previously served as the Offensive Coordinator at Bradenton Christian for two seasons, and prior to that was OC at Braden River.

Commonly known as “Coach E”, Strawderman was, per Head Coach Brody Wiseman, “A man of the people, and impacted the entire community.”

Strawderman is survived by his wife Kimberly, and their six kids, one of whom, Nate, is also a coach at Sarasota High.

Coach E was 49 years old.
