NEW YORK (SNN-TV) – With the NBA Trade Deadline concluded earlier today at three o’clock, the biggest move came when the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers struck a deal.

The Nets and 76ers agreed to the blockbuster trade just hours before today’s deadline, with James Harden and Paul Millsap going to Philadelphia and Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round draft picks going to Brooklyn.

The deal allows both teams to move on from unhappy superstars who had been seeking trades.

For Philadelphia, it means the end of what has been a months-long saga surrounding Simmons, who asked to be traded last year.

The relationship between Harden and the Nets, meanwhile, broke down in recent days, with Harden declining to formally ask for a trade, fearing the backlash of doing so for the second time in a little more than a year.

Both teams are currently slated as the 2nd and 8th seeds in the East.
