PORT CHARLOTTE (SNN-TV) – Despite the MLB and MLBPA standing at a crossroads without a new CBA or a definitive schedule, Minor League Baseball will start on time, and the Rays minor league camp began today.

Today was the first official workout day for pitchers and catchers at minor league camp in Port Charlotte at Charlotte Sports Park for the Rays. 120 total players worked out today, with many of the Rays’ future stars on display.

Entering this season with five prospects in Baseball America’s top-100, the Rays boast one of the game’s best farm systems. With Shane Baz, Vidal Brujan and Josh Lowe having either sniffed or seen considerable major-league playing time, two younger Rays look to burst onto the scene this season.

One of which is pitcher, Taj Bradley. Bradley enters 2022 as the 58th ranked prospect and the Rays 6th best. But Bradley, worries about his own game, not outside-influenced rankings.

“I try not to look at that stuff because, I don’t know, its really just a number right now. I focus on myself and being the best pitcher I can be. Everybody else’s opinions, is opinions, you know? What I believe is true to myself.”

Minor League Baseball’s Opening Day is set for April 5th.
