SARASOTA – All across the nation thousands of women gathered for the third annual Women’s March. Here on the Suncoast more than a hundred women gathered to let their voices be heard.

“I wanted to have an accessible one to all these people and for me so that we can in unity and make our voices heard,” Jasmine Graziela.

17-year-old Graziela is the high school student who organized the 2019 Women’s March in Sarasota. “Government in today’s time is not representative of women and it’s almost insultive to women,” she says.

Graziela says after she noticed a women’s march still wasn’t planned by December for the Suncoast – she stepped up to the plate. “As a victim of sexual assault and sexual harassment, I believe that the presidency is very corrupt and what they’re doing is not okay.”

Mother and daughter duo Ruth Ann and Lauren Bell says they both have attended the women’s march every year.

“We’re out here marching for people who can’t be here, whose voices are being taken away and we’re giving a platform to those who want to speak out,” says Lauren.

Ruth Ann says with this being the third women’s march she’ hoping 2019 bring change to the Trump administration. “We need immigration reform, we need women’s rights, we need the president to step down. We need new leadership, better leadership,” she says.

Across the country thousands of women also filled the streets of New York and DC – letting their voices be heard.

“I proud of everyone that’s marching. let us make our voices heard, everyone be peaceful and be safe,” says Graciela.
