VENICE (SNN TV) – Venice celebrates student champions!
On Saturday, the “Parade of Champions” rolled through downtown Venice. People celebrated the Venice High volleyball team’s 2023 Class 7A State Championship win. They also celebrated Amadeusz Knop and Maeve Eckerman, two Venice High students who captured multiple state swimming titles.
Venice High’s band and cheerleaders participated, and Venice High Marine Corps JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) led the parade. The parade included Venice Fire and Police vehicles. Sarasota County School Board member Tom Edwards was in attendance, along with other school officials and city dignitaries.
The parade began at Venice High at 11:30 a.m.
