SARASOTA – A truck overturns onto its side after a collision this afternoon. The truck collided with a black SUV around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. It happened in the northbound lanes of U.S. 301 just before Northgate Blvd.
Kevin Hawley, who works just near the scene at Morse Equipment, says he was driving right behind the SUV when it happened.
“The black SUV made a U-turn here into the right lane. The Red Bull truck was traveling in the center lane, and the black SUV cut across without signaling, and the Red Bull truck swerved to avoid him and tipped and slid about 20 feet,” Hawley said. “It’s like watching a movie unfold in front of you.”
Hawley says he got out of his car to help the driver and passenger out of the Red Bull truck and says no one appeared to be seriously hurt. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol both responded to the crash site.
