Trash collection for Venice, Sarasota County

VENICE/SARASOTA COUNTY (SNN TV) – Trash and recycling resume Monday, October 3 in the City of Venice. Carts can be placed at the curb separated from debris piles.

A contractor will begin pickup of residential debris from Hurricane Ian as early as Wednesday, October 5. Remember to separate vegetation from all other material groups. Vegetation should not be bagged. Piles should be separated into like materials – construction debris, appliances, electronics, etc. Make sure piles are 5 feet from your mailbox and other objects like fire hydrants and street signs.

Trash and yard waste resume in Sarasota County on October 3 as well. Recycling collection is suspended until further notice.

Two free public drop-off sites for vegetative storm debris will also open on October 3rd. These sites are on 8650 Bee Ridge Road and 250 South Jackson Road. They’ll be open 8 a.m to 6 p.m. Residents are required to unload vegetative storm debris themselves. Commercial debris is not permitted, and proof of Sarasota County residency is required.
