The Twig wins $25,000 State Farm grant

THE TWIG GRANT

VENICE- The Twig wins $25,000 State Farm grant. The nonprofit organization serves kids in foster care by offering them free clothes in their boutique shop.
The Twig received the grant for being one of the Top 40 finalists in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant program. Organizations are determined through online votes through State Farm Neighborhood Assist, an initiative that empowers communities to identify issues in their neighborhoods.

Community director, Nicole Britton says they are serving more than 300 children in foster care and this grant will help them continue to serve the kids.

“More than 3,000 items of clothing and shoes are going out our doors completely free of charge,” said Britton, “Without funding like this, it would be impossible for us to fully stock our boutique so that every child that comes in has the opportunity to find items that they love and are helping boost their self-esteem.”

The check will be presented through Rob Reisdorf State Farm Thursday evening at the kickoff party for the third annual Twig online auction.
