MIAMI (SNN-TV) – The 2023 World Baseball Classic continued yesterday with the tournament’s first semifinal game, as Team USA had its way with Cuba in Miami, 14-2.
Trea Turner came up big once again for Team USA. The day after his eighth-inning grand slam led to a 9-7 win over Venezuela, Turner hit two more long balls as well. Paul Goldschmidt and Cedric Mullins also homered for the Americans, who scored in seven of eight innings. Turner and Goldschmidt had four RBIs each.
The U.S. will now face the winner of tonight’s semifinal between Japan-Mexico in the WBC Championship tomorrow night in Miami.
