SUNCOAST – You may be seeing more gas prices with a 3 as the first number instead of 4.
Gas prices continue to decrease on the Suncoast.
According to AAA, gas prices are down around 14 cents since a week ago, averaging $4.09, down from 4-24 last week. Diesel is down 10 cents. In Charlotte County, gas is already averaging $3.99.
We still have a while to go before reaching our numbers from last year at this time at $2.90, but we’re overall on the right track, down almost 70 cents since last month. What could stop the continued decline in prices?
A hurricane in the gulf shutting down refineries and a global conflict such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine are two large-scale events that could disrupt the global price of oil.
