SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – Normally our Carl Reynolds Law student athlete of the month is reserved for high school students in the area. But that is not this case this time around, as two younger student-athletes were owed the spotlight so much – age and grade weren’t a factor.

Meet Abram Lee and Dylan Adams — two budding stars locally representing Florida Elite and the Pop Warner leagues here on the Suncoast. Both Lee and Adams are 9 years old and both are extraordinarily talented on the field and off of it. Off the field, Adams and Lee are outstanding students. While attending Sarasota County’s online school, Dylan, also known as “Day” accrues a 4.0 GPA. The same can be said for Abram, as he also maintains a 4.0 GPA while attending Liberty Elementary.

As noteworthy as their accomplishments are in the classroom, their off the field achievements are just as notable. Both Adams and Lee have been selected out of 35,000 athletes across the country to represent a group of 30 kids at the Bret Cooper Football Jr Academic All-American Bowl in Dallas on January 2nd of next year. The event coincides with the 2022 Cotton Bowl and allows both boys to have an experience of a lifetime.

The Bret Cooper Jr. All-American bowl is one of a kind. The honor is distinctive because no other game in the nation has an academic and character related requirement for an all-American selection. On top of that, the rosters from the game are requested and given to any college or university along with major national publications highlighting top recruits.

Both Dylan and Abram have not reached this position alone, as they like some young athletes, are coached by their fathers. Watching his son achieve this moment is a delight from each and every perspective according to Dylan’s father, Alan Adams. As for Abrams father, Brian McFarland, having a military background has enstilled solid principles in his parenting and coaching ability, but the discipline and dedication of the kids is what stands out.

With a younger generation of athletes led by kids such as Abram and Dylan its safe to say the future of youth sports, especially here on the Suncoast, is in good hands.
