SARASOTA – As a new addition to their fly safe measures, Sarasota- Bradenton International airport installed three contactless temperature scanners.

The thermal temperature screening kiosks were installed in different spots of the terminal, giving travelers the option to check if they are healthy enough to board a plane without touching anything.

All airport employees are required to check their temperatures prior to starting their shift each day.

“This a complimentary product that we offer the passengers so they can check their temperature prior to flying out, although they do need to keep in mind that some carriers are requiring that their temperatures be checked before boarding the aircraft,” said Executive Vice President, Chief of Staff at SRQ Airport, Mark Stuckey.

“They have a military-grade thermal image camera that’ll check the temperature of your forehead and make sure that you are not at a 100.4 or higher, if you are we do recommend that you do not fly.”

The airport has also installed plexiglass shields, social distancing markers, and increased cleaning to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
