Some of the Suncoast events this week, including red tide panel and SPARCC fundraiser

SUNCOAST (SNN TV) – Here are some events to know up and down the Suncoast this week.

The Science and Technology Society hosts “Red Tide in the Gulf Coast” Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Bishop Museum. The panel will include people from the Manatee County Natural Resources Department, the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program, the organization Solutions to Avoid Red Tide, and the Coastal Ocean Observation System.

The Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center hosts a golf tournament fundraiser Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice. All proceeds support SPARCC’s free and confidential programs and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. A spaghetti fundraiser to support Boy Scout Troop 776 will be held at the Gulf Cove United Methodist Church in Port Charlotte this Saturday from 4-7 p.m. Advance tickets are available from Boy Scouts in Troop 776 and from Michelle Dragon (941-716-2918) or by visiting the church office Monday through Thursday. Tickets also available at the door.
