SARASOTA – Sarasota Memorial breaks a record with COVID-19 patients and reports one new death since Friday.
SMH reporter 131 COVID-19 patients today, setting a new record. The previous high was 130 COVID patients on July 22nd, 2020.
The hospital expanded its intensive care unit last week from 62 to 72 beds to deal with the crush of new cases. There are currently 29 patients with COVID-19 in the ICU.
Nearly 3,000 COVID-19 patients have been hospitalized at Sarasota Memorial since the outbreak began, 259 of whom have died.
